Drogo Baggins

Drogo Baggins, one of the many bearers of the One Ring, was born in S.R. 1308 to Fosco Baggins and Ruby Bolger.

Drogo Baggins, a Hobbit of the Shire, was the father of Frodo Baggins, and a brother to Dora & Dugo Baggins. This regular and respectable Shire-hobbit was married to Primula Brandybuck. Drogo was immensely fond of good food. He lived in Buckland with his wife. He often visited Gorbadoc Brandybuck, his father-in-law, who lived at Brandy Hall. Gorbadoc often kept a generous table for his visitors. He showed a great affinity towards the intriguing customs of the Bucklanders, like boating. Drogo, who was considered "partial to his vittles" by Samwise Gamgee's father, The Gaffer, died in SR 1380. He did not have a normal death. Both he and his wife were pronounced dead when they went boating together one night. [1] Some said that Drogo's Rubenesque figure sank the boat, and they drowned since both were weak swimmers. In contrast, few others said that his wife pushed him and was later pulled inside by the turbulent waters. The accident happened in the Brandywine River during one of Drogo's visits to his in-laws in Buckland. [2]

Frodo, the son of Drogo, was aged twelve when his parents died. After the tragic accident, Frodo was adopted by his uncle Bilbo Baggins of Hobbiton and grew up at Brandy Hall. Frodo became the Deputy Mayor of Michel Delving and eventually the heir to the Ring. In his later days, Frodo set out on a long expedition to Mount Doom.
