Legendarium

The Fellowship of The Ring

The Elves sing a song in appreciation for Elbereth when they run into Frodo Baggins, Peregrin Took, and Samwise Gamgee in the Shire. Frodo shouts out the same name when being assaulted at Weathertop. Elbereth is referred to as devastating by Aragorn to the Nazgul.

The Return of The King

While in the caverns of Shelob, Frodo shouts out to Elbereth when using the Phial of Galadriel. After being freed from the Orcs' clutches, Elbereth is a password suggested by Sam to Frodo at the Tower of Cirith Ungol. Frodo was instructed to use it while letting down the ladder after gathering gears for both to put on in Mordor. [2]
