Gandalf created, designed, and brought spell-binding fireworks that came to be known as Gandalf’s fireworks. He sold or sometimes gave away these fireworks to the people of the Shire during his many visits there. He created several different types of fireworks which were named squibs, crackers, back rappers, torches, sparklers, dwarf candles, goblin barkers, elf fountains, and thunderclaps. [1]He also displayed special effects where the finest rockets would burst into stars of green and blue color, and after thunder, golden showers came falling like a rain of flowers. His array of fireworks also included fireworks shaped like dragons or trees. Every firework was marked with the letter ‘G’. A few Hobbits speculated that the letter ‘G’ stands for the word ‘grand’. It is said that Gandalf’s art improved with age. [2]However, it was believed that his pyrotechnics skills came from his possession of Narya, the Ring of Fire.
