The New Ring is a ring of Power forged by Talion, the Captain of the rangers of Gondor, and the Elven spirit Celebrimbor to destroy the Dark Lord. Unlike the original Rings of Power, this ring had the powers to control an army capable of defeating the Dark Lord Sauron. [1] The New ring, which is part of the game Middle-earth: Shadow of War, was similar to Nazgûl's Nine Rings of Power in functioning. However, it did not have any evil powers of Sauron and couldn't be used to control the Elves. Like other Rings of Power, Sauron planned to use the dark-colored New Ring to take control over the remaining Elves of Middle-earth. However, the New Ring with a blue glow was not under any influence of the Dark Lord and was tied to the wraith form of Celebrimbor. [2] The "New Ring" does not appear in any of J.R.R. Tolkien's works.
