The Tower of Sauron is one of the black captains of Sauron. He serves as the secondary antagonist in the 2014 video game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Appearance
Standing true to his name, the Tower is even taller than his fellow Black Captains. He is the true representation of Sauron’s evil and cruelty. His character is shown as ruthless and merciless. He looks the most grotesque amongst all the Black Captains.
History
Not much of Tower’s past is known to us. In the video game, his first appearance was at the Black Gate, where he holds the protagonist Talion and his family hostage, while also helping out the other Black Captains - the Hammer and the Black Hand. He is seen inside a hall where he demands Talion to drop his sword with one of the ax-like swords positioned at his wife’s throat. Talion drops his sword but shortly after the Hammer knocks him down from behind. Tower stops the Hammer from killing Talion while demanding that he be brought to the Black Hand alive. [1] When Talion comes back to consciousness, the Tower can be seen restraining his son Dirhael while the Hammer beats Talion. The Black Hand emerges and slits the throats of his wife, his son Dirhael and Talion himself.
