Is the decline in middle earth theme just about events?

hi friends, it is written in english wikipedia that the decline of middle earth theme is only about events. For example, two lamps fall, two trees fall, melkor fell from his angelic form and was defeated and thrown into the void, the sinking and destruction of the people of numenor by eru, the fall of sauron and similar events. In other words, the middle-earth setback only contained events. It had nothing to do with the power of races and beings. Is this information on Wikipedia correct? I am waiting for the most knowledgeable ttf members who have knowledge of this subject. Because it is a subject that I am really curious about.

Although events affect and punctuate the story of Middle-earth, it seems clear that an overarching theme is the passing out of the world an original magic -- or as Tolkien called it, Elvish "art", and along with it, the various races more or less in touch with it, leaving, as Saruman recognized, "the world of Men".

The critic Johm Clute calls this process "thinning". You can read his article here:

If true, I think: Tolkien created the theme of decline to make middle earth a part of the real world we live in. If you notice, there is no mention of the theme of decline before the times when he wrote dagor dagorath. When dagor dagorath was abandoned and middle earth was connected to the real world, the theme of decline was created, as there are no orcs, elves and magic today. But not everyone agrees with this idea of Tolkien. There are even critics like me. because dagor dagorath was the most ideal ending for middle earth. Besides, such terrible and cruel events took place in the real world we live in that a well-intentioned time period like middle earth would not be worthy of the real world.

Look at Tolkien’s abortive sequel to LotR. Add that to the fact that all the good guys are leaving, even the hobbits being scarce, and it seems clear to me that Tolkien thought Middle Earth much superior to the modern world. Surely it is morally superior to the modern world. Now we live in the world of Ice and Fire.
