Would his ill effects still linger enough that nothing decent could grow or that nobody would dare go near it (kind of like how people didn't want to go near the bones of Smaug in the Long Lake even though he was long dead.)? Could nice things be built there, could it be farmed? Or would it always be an evil, cursed, wasteland, like an extreme version of the Brownlands?

As far as the Plateau of Gorgoroth goes, that could very well need a very long time to recover. But larger Mordor included the larger area of Nurn, where Sauron is supposed to have had farms, especially around the Sea of Nurnen and the rivers feeding it. Though such landlocked seas can occasionally turn too salty for use in agriculture, the Dead Sea in the Jordan Valley being the most extreme case. Of case there are opposite examples, the five Great Lakes on the US-Canada border, the Caspian Sea, the great Alpine lakes of Europe, Zurich and Constance ...

Relax mate, it wasn't meant as disrespect towards Tolkien (my favorite writer of all time), nor disrespect to anyone. I often participate in debates here, where I seriously write about various topics related to professors work.
If you dislike so much my poor attempts of humor, there should be somewhere a button to block my posts, and you won't be bothered anymore.
Cheers!

LOL
Imagine dwarfs rage if they discover man cheated them all the time.
Army of Noldors lead by 3 Finwe's sons wouldn't be able to help them.

Humor and lightness of spirit are rare for me now.
Same over here.

Old has been my spirit for long, and long have I felt the weariness of this world, over every day that accumulates as though it felt eternal and timeless....

Even these Outer Lands feel to me, at times, as though I am already within the Halls of Mandos, metaphorically so - and I am quite sure that his Halls would grant far more solace than anything within this world. :)

What's the matter with you guys? You should be more like me!
