I don't mind at all! All I can say so far is this much:
Manwe isn't mentioned in the Second Prophecy of
Mandos (sections 31 and 32 of the conclusion to the 1937 Silmarillion, HOME V) -- nor is he added in the later emendations [The War of the Jewels, HOME XI]
The Second Prophecy says, for example:
Morgoth shall return through the Door of Night and shall destroy the Sun and Moon, but
Earendil shall descend upon him (as a white and searing flame) and drive him
"from the airs" . . .
. . . then the "Last Battle" shall be gathered on the
fields of
Valinor:
"In that day Tulkas shall strive with Morgoth, and on his right hand shall be Fionwe, and on his left Túrin Turambar, son of Húrin, coming from the Halls of Mandos; and the black sword of Túrin shall deal unto Morgoth his death and final end; and so shall the children of Húrin and all Men be avenged."
The second "half" of the prophecy (section 32) concerns stuff like
the Silmarils being recovered, their breaking to rekindle the Two
Trees, and the levelling of the
mountains of Valinor, so that the light shall go out over all the world. And more!
Anyway, no Manwe.
In the later emendations [HOME XI], still no Manwe, although in the margin of the manuscript,
Tolkien wrote:
"And Beren Camlost" without direction for its insertion.
Also, I don't see
Melkor killing Manwe in any earlier versions of this "prophecy" [which versions are mostly collected for easier viewing in a note to
The Problem Of ROS]. There is a text included in
The Istari section of
Unfinished Tales that mentions
"Manwe will not descend from the Mountain until the Dagor Dagorath, and the coming of the End, when Melkor returns."
But that's not only not part of the Second Prophecy proper, in any case Manwe isn't said to be killed by anyone here. Is there some other text that should be in play?
I'm not sure we can say with certainty that
"most" Middle-earth fans interpret the description this way, but in any event, the relevant section -- for anyone who hasn't read it yet and wants to interpret it -- is now in this thread [the emended version does not change the relevant wording regarding this particular matter].
My nap invigorated me.
That all said, again
if there is some Tolkien-written text that I'm unaware of here, then I should like to see it, or at least have it specifically referenced -- in other words, only a Tolkien-written source please. And if you got this claim from youtube, what is the youtuber's Tolkien written source?
