I don't recall the name Morgoth popping up in any of PJ's stuff. I mean, he is by definition strictly First Age, so should be off-limits for RoP. Under that assumption, one can only come across the name Morgoth by reading, at a minimum, the posthumously published "Silmarillion".

Well, it fits both links on this page. The one I commented on (Morgoth vs. the Whit Council) only dealt with reading JRRT's own writings wrong. The second one must have members of about half a dozen university faculties tearing their hair ... 😖😖😖

Gandalf does say "Balrog of Morgoth" in The Two Towers movie (a phrase used by Legolas in the book in Lothlórien). Another First Age reference is Radagast mentioning Ungoliant in An Unexpected Journey. Both names appear in The Lord of the Rings.

I'll add to this that in PJ's The Fellowship of the Ring movie, Legolas mentions "a Balrog of Morgoth" in Lothlorien.

I'm trying to figure out where to put a thread like that. Obviously, it would be best to encompass both RoP, and PJ's adaptations as well as other LoTR, The Hobbit adaptations that mention First-Age items or terms.
