@Deimos Man I haven't watched Chicken Run since I was a kid, but I do remember loving it. I should give it another go.
It is just great fun. All the pop culture nods and references to old (and not so old) movies, and well thought out characters and dialogue.
Kind of like Princess Bride... another very clever, well made movie that's just plain fun to watch .

And, an often-overlooked fact, Gollum loved to play this game. If you read the text closely you'll see he was Scrabbling below that tree in Lothlorien before his game was interrupted.

In Casablanca with Humphry Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, there is a farewell scene with the two stars kissing inside an airplane hangar. The hanger has a plane outside (Lockheed Electra 12A) with a bunch of people working around it.

The production was not allowed to film at an airport after dark for security reasons, so they used a sound stage with a small cardboard cutout airplane and forced perspective. The strange part is to give perspective of distance, they used little people for the workers.

The Canary Islands were named after the Latin word for 'dog'

In answer to the question 'what are the Canary Islands named after? ' many people's first thought goes to the eponymous bird, but this is not correct. In fact, it was the other way around with the canary bird being named after the archipelago

Princess Bride is in my top 3 movies of all time. So effortlessly goes from tongue-in-cheek to plain silly to heartwarming to serious back to silly.

You could take away all of Wayne Gretzky’s goals that he scored during his career and he would still be the all-time NHL points leader off his assists alone.

Bonus Gretzky fact: He and his brother own the record for being the highest scoring pair of siblings. Brent had 4 points in his whole career.

Family coattails can be so convenient 😉😄

Bobby and Barry Bonds hold the father-son record for most home runs hit in the major leagues, with 1,094. While Barry is the current career leader with 762, dad Bobby was no slouch either with 332 in 14 playing seasons (not all of them full). They also lead this statistic for RBIs and stolen bases. And they are the only two players in MLB history to hit more than 300 home runs and steal more than 400 bases in a career ...

Back to the cricket crowd now ...

10th US President John Tyler, who was born in 1790, currently has a living grandson. Tyler’s first wife Letitia died while he was in office in 1842. She was the first presidential spouse out of three who would die in the White House. Two years later in 1844 when Tyler was 54 he married Julia Gardiner and had seven children with her, one of which being Lyon Gardiner Tyler (1853-1935).

Lyon was born when Tyler was 63. Lyon also had a child at an unreasonably old age; after his first wife Anne died in 1921, Lyon married Sue Ruffin who was thirty-five years his junior. In 1928 when Lyon was 75, Sue gave birth to Harrison Ruffin Tyler, who lives to this day.

Some areas of Croatia were completely depopulated during Ottoman wars. Slavonia had lost 80% and Lika and Krbava 95% of population during just the Long War (1683 - 1699).

If someone gives you a penny (U.S.) today and comes back every day giving you double what they gave you the previous day, you'll be a billionaire on day 37.
