The Old TTF Theme

[Erestor Arcamen]

As I’d mentioned in shoutbox, I miss the old site look. Here’s what it looked like in 2006, if anyone’s interested.

Cool, I like the Two Trees graphic!

[Halasían]

I remember that. I believe there was an art contest for the banner?
And the green that came along in 2002 was a vast improvement over what it was when I joined in late 2001.
By late 2003 it was appearing more familiar and they were featuring banners. It appears our recently returned Aule was captured online when the page was web-crawled!

Yeah I’d heard of the art contest but that was before I joined.

Same, it looks like a stained glass window.

We used to be this cool?

@Aulë ... the Guilds of '03.

And you can see that all the RPs were on its own forum... Middle-earth RPG.

This is what I see in the archives along with 3 pages of unclassified RPGs below, mixed with discussions.

The guilds are all there too!

Yep, and courtesy of WBM, here is MERPG's style:

Ah yes.... memories. Thanks! I tried looking it up yesterday but mustn't of had the proper url.

I think Chrysophalax is somewhat active over on LotR Fanatics. Could be someone different, but I believe I remember some discussions on the old Fanatics site with them about being on TTF. The old Fanatics site crashed and burned in late 2019, and one of the moderators managed to resurrect a new forum from the ashes by using a back-up file. Sadly, the history only goes back to the beginning f the new board in early 2020. Everything else was lost.

This sure does take me back.... the theme, the RP's...what a blast from the past.

Same. Seeing those pictures made me feel like a kid (and cringe) again! Those were some fun times. I remember spending hours perusing the forums, geeking out about the books and movies rather than reading what I was actually supposed to be for school.

[Mithrandir]

I know the feeling well - reading some of my old posts is both fun and fully cringe worthy. I was a high school student when I was the most active - actively ignoring my school work to read Tolkien, RP/Talk about Tolkien and play music/video games 😂
