Maybe not much to discuss, but I'll give it a try as a topic:
On page 3 of The Ring Goes South...
Bilbo says, "Books ought to have good endings. How would this do: and they all settled down and lived together happily ever after?"
"It will do well, if it ever comes to that," said Frodo.
"Ah!" said Sam. "And where will they live? That's what I often wonder."
What's Sam thinking regarding their living arrangements after the quest is successful?
Isn't it likely, they'd just live in the house at Crickhollow?
Is he worried Frodo will want to stay in Rivendell with Bilbo, and he will part with him to return to the Shire?
Is he hoping Frodo can find a way to get Bag End back?
Is Tolkien foreshadowing Frodo and Sam's future living across the Sea?
