I can't think of many boys's names that I like the sound of and wouldn't give the child funny looks. Excluding names like Tom or Bill of course.

Girl's name there are some more:

Idril
Elwing
Arwen
Indis
Miriel
Aredhel

Well I named my youngest daughter Luthien (no accent mark because I have an accented middle name and I hate that it so often gets ignored in transcription) She will be a year old Saturday!

People tend to mishear it as Lucien, but if they see it spelled out they pronounce it the right way, which I think is a win for a unique name.

While options are limited and possibilities are questionable, Ent would consider these possibilities for any new entings::
Treebeard
Fangorn
Quickbeam
Bregalad
Leaflock
Finglas
Skinbark
Fladrif
Beechbone
Fimbrethil

Wandlimb
What about Milkwood? I heard someone say this name as an afterthought and I always thought it was genius for a ent name. What do you think? 😄

What about Milkwood?
It is not an ent name used in Tolkien's works, so doesn't fit the question's intent.
Certainly not a bad name - and if we are to get creative on the matter, several other thoughts come to mind.
Yet we don't want to run off the rails here...

my personal preferences are referred only to how the names sound, and whether they don't sound too strange for everyday life, and they are not too difficult to pronounce or spell.

But I believe that some people that name their children after Tolkien's characters might feel that their child somehow is like the character represented by the name.

For example, somebody said they named their daughter Luthien, well, Luthien is synonymous with beauty so it might be the feeling of the parent that their child is the most beautiful.

You could call them Fingolfin or Fingon if they are fearless, Feanor if they are crafty, Finrod if they are good at music or Idril if they have good instincts.
