Halloween Movies 🎃

I'm sure someone here has at least seen the psychological horror film, The Bad Seed (1956). I remember when Svengoolie played it last year, he actually gave several content warnings because of how disturbing some of its scenes were. Indeed, it was an intense movie...

Tonight Svengoolie was showing 1966's Munster, Go Home!. What a delight to watch! I enjoy the original The Munsters series quite a bit, and this movie fit right in with the humor and feel of the show. In addition, I've always been so used to seeing them in black-and-white, so it was a surprise to see what they actually looked like in color! 😂

Tonight’s a repeat, one of my other favorites
I think I bought it a year or two ago...still haven't watched it (No reason, just....haven't watched it yet)

Another unwatched one sitting in my stack of DVDs and BDs:
The Phantom Carriage (1921) [Criterion Collection]
Go HERE to read about it.

Is it a metaphor as (most of us) have five fingers, are we not all beasts then?
The screenplay, written by Curt Siodmak, was loosely adapted from a 1919 short story of the same name by W.F. Harvey.
I have it on my bookshelves in an anthology of "scary stories." And "loosely adapted" is the operative phrase here.
The short story is solidly supernatural; the movie (from my reading about it) is a "psychological horror story."
I do know I slept with the light on for several nights after reading the story.
It's one of those stories that I can only reread after at least a year has passed.
