peter jackson

My apologies if this has been answered (I didn't find it doing a quick search.) Was Peter Jackson in Return of the King? I remember seeing him in Fellowship and Two Towers, but I don't recall seeing him in Return Of The King. It's definitely possible that I missed it, as I've only seen it...

The Chronicles of Narnia will be filmed in New Zealand.. Strangely enough, PJ has his foot in the door for this: WETA is doing special effects, and PJ invented WETA. On a (possibly?) more comforting note, the director of Shrek will be directing this. There are two possible thoughts for this...

WHO IN YOUR OPINION WOULD HAVE DONE IT? Vote then post if you think he'll do a better job than PJ, or if he'll pretty much equal his talent or suck altogether.

I am in bewilderment. I have not seen the movie yet, and alot of what I hear and see are rumors - so it may all be just misinformation spread by purists or PJ haters. So I will continue to take this all with a grain of salt until I actually see the movie next Friday for myself. But one rumor...

I personally am in two minds about Peter, what do you fine folk think? :)

I've read a lot of messages (including my own :D ) where PJ's been heavily criticized for his adaption of the books to the film, and all of his serious mistakes. However, although I definitely agree PJ has his faults, he also has done an excellent job with a lot (or maybe a little if you're a...

This keeps coming up and I feel it deserves a thread. I realize we won't have all of the answers on this until after the last movie... but I feel like we are in a similar position as when the first movie came out. Back in the day... purists cried out against the first film. Most everyone...

After the cutting of Ugluk for Lurtz we now get several new characters "addded"by Jackson in The Return of the King. Return of the King Cast-List "Madril"-who is this Madril? A man of Gondor whose name Jackson changed? Is it Beregond? Or maybe an Elf? And "Irolas" a name that...

I almost ave to wonder if he forget to read all of the books while he was producing the film. Last time I read the Two Towers the elves never came to save them and plus if the elves really did come half of the orcs wouldnt have made it to the wall. What other dramatic changes is he going to make...

Today's my first time on this forum since the release of FOTR about 2 years ago...what a surprise I got. Last time I was here, most people were praising PJ for what a magnificent job he’s done bringing an epic story to the big screen. Nowadays, most of you seemed to be crucifying PJ. What a 360...

Return of the King is upon us, but after the trilogy what comes next? I think everyone would love to see The Hobbit movie. I myself would like to see a Turin Turambar movie. I think that may be my favorite JRRT story, and I think it would make a great movie. What do you guys want to see on...

I have just finished reading LOTR again, in light of watching LOTR and TTT, and it never occured to me before, but Peter Jakson, in fellowship of the ring, has really increased Gandalf's character, at the expense of others - in particular Boromir and Gimli. Indeed, it is Gandalf, from tolkiens...

This part of RoTK has been bothering me since I saw a movie magazine give vague comments about these scenes. Maggot's quote spurred me on to address this potential disaster for PJ's movies. How indeed will PJ portray and explain the paths of the dead in light of cuts of Saruman's demise...

This is going to be long but it is necessary. Despite being ridiculed for two years, called NPWs (nit-picking weenies), told to get a life and quit criticizing movies we haven't even seen yet, the Purist, that strange species that was a minority at one time on this forum, seems to be...
