Could Adar be Maglor?

Just a thought when I was watching The Rings of Power.

Since there is no accounted fate for Maglor, besides walking the seashore in pain and sorrow, could Adar be Maglor? Of course, I understand that everything in The Rings of Power, is standalone, and does not have bearing onto Tolkien's universe, but all the same, it rose a question in my mind.

The main thought of mine for this, begins with appearance. Of course, the character of Adar seems to resemble the characteristics found in Maglor, and it is clear that Adar is an almost marred Elf, rather than an Orc. The next reason I have to think this, is the slight tenderness mingled within Adar. The title of "lord-father" and the way he speaks to the Orcs as his "children" almost gives an indication of a small tenderness, hidden beneath the surface.

Honestly, I just want to hear thoughts on this. It's just a theory, of course. If this is a true theory, I would be interested to see how it reveals itself. For me, the most logical reveal would be through Elrond, I would think, recognizing the Elf who took care of him and Elros when they were children.

There is an 'accounted for' fate for Maglor. He cast himself into the Sea and died.
While Maglor in the pre-LotR writings survived (this was adopted into the published Silmarillion), in later writings Maglor perishes by casting himself into the sea:
"The last two sons of Feanor, compelled by their oath, steal them, and are destroyed by them, casting themselves into the sea, and the pits of the earth."
Letter 131
"The other two Silmarils were also taken by the Valar from the crown of Morgoth. But the last surviving sons of Feänor (Maedros and Maglor), in a despairing attempt to carry out the Oath, stole them again. But they were tormented by them, and at last they perished each with a jewel: one in a fiery cleft in the earth, and one in the sea."
Concerning... The Hoard

Maglor's death is also implied:
"The sons of Eärendil were Elros and Elrond, the Peredhil or Half-elven. In them alone the line of the heroic chieftains of the Edain in the First Age was preserved; and after the fall of Gil-galad the lineage of the High-elven Kings was also in Middle-earth only represented by their descendants."
LotR
"Galad occurs also in the epessë of Ereinion (‘scion of kings') by which he was chiefly remembered in legend, Gil-galad ‘star of radiance’: he was the last king of the Eldar in Middle-earth, and the last male descendant of Finwë except Elrond the Half-elven."
Shibboleth of Feanor

Also, Amazon would not have rights to Maglor (who is not named in LotR or The Hobbit).

Possible clues to Adars past:

--Elements of Adar's clothing/armor are the same as Gil-galad's.

--In one episode Adar reminisces about time he spent along a river in a wetland area (more or less). It made me think of the area by the Mouths of Sirion. Which, in turn, made me think that he could be a refugee from the Fall of Gondolin.

If the showrunners were going to tease that he might be Maglor, a connection to music would have been the easiest way to do it. IMO.

I'm hoping we'll get some more back-story for Adar next season with some enticing historical connections.

I doubt we'll get a suitable back-story for Adar, but it looks like we will be getting a new actor to portray that character going forward. Like the remaining Balrog after the First Age, the original actor may be running for cover before the Second Age/Season begins.
