Did the Ring allow Bilbo to talk to the Mirkwood spiders?

[Valandil]

My purse post remains unchallenged. Why talk about spiders and not purses? ☺☺☺

Simple... Magic Purse of Gondolin, also come upon by this group of trolls. Turned to stone at first light, by connection to a troll.

EDIT: Thinking about it some more - I wonder if it came from Dale. Which would be ironic...

Shelob is not mentioned to have talked to the the hobbits, but didn't she talk to Gollum at some point?

That seems very probable to me. To be honest, the purse seems to me more likely of Dwarvish make, but if not, the Noldor did it.
