Do you think a spin off would work?

I honestly would love a spin off of the show and I think a good direction would be for them to adapt the Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. Maybe not exactly like the games but I do love the idea of Talion being given a live action series. Granted I don't see this Celebrimbor becoming the Bright Lord he seems to kind. Though that could be added as part of the story. Though after all he went through I'd rather he be forced back to the afterlife then bound to Sauron.

However given how they've fleshed out the Orcs in Rings of Power I'm sure a series adaptation of Shadow 1&2 wouldn't be too far of a departure. Besides they have a lot of lore to cover and I think a spin would help do it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did a spin-off, actually. It'd be more profit for Amazon, which we know they can't say no too, and Rop could absolutely use a spin-off to help balance the current amount of plot threads going on . . . one or two character arcs getting it's own show would help a lot with the chaotic-ness of the current writing.

I think one of the main issues it might run into is marketing. A lot of Rop's marketing is based on the love around Tolkien, but there isn't much love for the show itself. So, if something were to come out based on the show, there might be a disconnect there. Of course they could still market it as 'another Tolkien story,' but the association with RoP might sour things, unfortunately.

As for adapting the video games it might be difficult for them to get the rights to the games story line if it does anything original aside from Tolkien's legendarium (I haven't played it myself so I don't know how loose of an adaptation it is). If the company that made they game doesn't want Amazon to make an adaptation, it probably wouldn't happen even it both have the rights to Tolkien as a franchise. (If there is some one out there who knows more about this let me know or please correct me, I'm not sure how the legal system around this would work exactly--especially with a property that different people are given permission to use and expand upon).

That said, we are getting an Anime movie this year, which is so far out of left field that at this point anything could happen in my opinion 😂.

So I do think a spin off could very realistically happen. Though if it did it might take a long time for us to see it. Shows like this take a lot of time and money, there's reason why we have 2-3-ish year waits between seasons for rop.
