Guess the Definition

Of course! I should have seen that.
Welp ':]

Hm. Does it have to do with light performing an action, such as flickering or brightening?

No worries! It happens!

Hm. Does it have to do with light performing an action, such as flickering or brightening?
Nay, it does not have to do with the light itself, but it is a part of the meaning. Think of it as an extension of the primary definition.

Hum 🤔 "Having the appearance of twilight".

Does the extension apply to the 'appearance' part of the definition? As in, perhaps "softness" or "delicacy"?

Okay. Hum.

Does it have to do with outside events associated with twilight? I.e, fairy-time, the thinning of the veil, etc?
Or perhaps it is the colors of twilight being referenced?

I know sometimes secondary definitions can be more or less far afield from the primary. That's why I'm trying the first guess. _(..)_

Does it have to do with a book series about vampires? ;)
Lord Of The Rings No GIF

Perhaps the process of twilight's progress between day and night? The shift of light and cloud?
Nay. The definition is not about twilight itself, but it is a part of it. (The focus is on something in regards to twilight, and that is what is more scientific.)

I shall endeavor to guess the science to do with crepuscular, then. Is it the study of light(I don't know the names of a number of these sciences 😅), or of clouds?

Hm.
Maybe I should try a different tack.
Something scientific in regards to twilight...

Ack
I must request a hint, if you please. I know too little about science! (・・')

No worries! It is not about twilight light itself at all but refers more to the twilight time of day. There, that's half of the definition.

The time of day...dusk or early evening.
Something scientific about that time of day.

(>.<)

I gotta make a guess before my shift starts ':]

It doesn't have to do with light...
Doesn't have to do with weather or clouds...
It wouldn't make sense for it to be  time specifically.
Not colors, either.
Does this science have to do with the natural world, or is it concerning how men interact with the natural world? As in, does it have to do with the natural workings of nature, or does it study(for example) what we gain from wind turbines or our weather balloons or...
I cannot think of what we study evening for.
I must be following the wrong train of thought.

Something scientific happens at early evening, but not necessarily is it a science itself. Perhaps instead this is a scientific phenomenon, part of how evening works. Which does not have to do with light.

(x` _ 'x )

It can't be referring to the sun and moon, they're not always seen in the sky together at evening. Maybe...the stars? How the stars come out at early evening? But that's not a scientific thing specifically....

Ack
I gotta prep for work. I shall post this entire session of guesswork, partially because(who knows) maybe I stumbled upon something in here, and partially so you may see where my brain is going and correct me if needed.

I wanna get this right eventually, so I'm not giving up yet.

Does this science have to do with the natural world
It does indeed! No man-made anything involved.

natural workings of nature
Yes again.

cannot think of what we study evening for
Well, this is more classified as an observation we make, but this is also studied.

How the stars come out at early evening? But that's not a scientific thing specifically....
This is close in concept, but this is not about celestial bodies either.

You're doing great! You're starting to march further upon the correct grounds. 🙌

I'm guessing this is something non-living? We observe something non-sentient coming out or occuring at early evening?

Does it refer to the decreasing temperature, or change in the atmosphere we experience as the sun goes down?
