Hello, Boots here.
I would just like to talk to some people about these first two volumes of The History of Middle Earth series. I don't necessarily have trouble reading these books aside from occasion vocabulary I don't know. What I would really like to know is what parts of these books that people found most interesting, or even personal opinions on the books or theories blah blah blah. I find them very captivating in the mental imagery department and cannot put them down when I get into reading them. I read the segment of the creation of the trees about 3-4 times and couldn't seem to progress after that point because I just wanted to keep the imagery fresh in my mind. The way Tolkein seems to start with a general big idea and lets the ideas seem to trickle down like water by then developing the Valas homes by the trees or near or away from them is really special.
