Hmmm... I used to think Osanwë-kenta was by and large about the mind-mind or spirit-spirit "interaction", I don't seem to recall much about the mind-matter or spirit-matter "interaction".

Well, it was about the rules of telepathy and there is a large footnote about how spirits may become permanently embodied, unable to function powerfully as spirits again.

Tolkien was certainly developing an aware methaphysic at that time.

The shaking of the Tower is simply symbolic of the impending doom of Sauron's reign, rather than representing some metaphysical connection between it and the Ring.

if you look at the strength of sauron seeing as he is immortal, poured his strength, his malice and his will to dominate all else, of course the ring in itself will be powerfull, yet the power can not just be drawn out by anyone who happened to come across it, for if that were to happen whenever someone put on the ring there would be sheer carnage at all times.

But we can't infer that, because the Ring had so few holders: Isildur, Gollum, Bilbo, Frodo.

Frodo asked Galadriel why he could not read somewhat of Sauron’s mind if she could. She replied that he had never tried when wearing the Ring, and warned him not to do so.

Gollum and Bilbo and Frodo (until he learned better) all thought the Ring to be only a Ring of invisilibility.

It never occurred to them to try to use it for anything else.

Isildur possibly had never put it on before his attempt to escape from the Orcs, and certainly had no time to learn how to use the Ring’s power before an arrow struck him.

For example, to go the other way, would you think of willing your cellular phone to serve as an invisilibty deivce or to destroy all your enemies or gain you immense wealth?
