Yeah, the thread title caught your attention, didn't it? I guess you want an explanation...
I was watching the Extended Edition of The Return of the King today and something struck me. When Aragorn reveals himself and his sword to Sauron using the palantír, you can hear "...silivren penna miriel..." seeming to come from the palantír. You may recognize the phrase from the Hymn to Elbereth in The Fellowship of the Ring - Many Meetings. There are other phrases that you can hear but they are hard to make out. They sound like Black Speech? (That's what I would expect, not some praise to Elbereth.) What do you think?

you dint know that Sauron was the bastard child of Melkor and Elbereth......Check your easter egg on the EE; Pete jackson decided to rewrite tolkien and make a more dramatic the development of Sauron from pretty boy to tuff guy......in the vein that Faramir need a character implant.

You can see the homage to elbereth in the supadupa EE director's Mince (TM) next year dec 2005

In case anyone overlooked the thread. I'm curious to hear what others think of this. It's so odd -don't you think?

Also in the movie, when Aragorn throws apples to the hobbits, the first is a Golden Delicious, while the second is clearly Granny Smith. Both apples seem fresh, yet neither thrive in the soil types that the other needs, so where did he get the two?

 Perhaps he merely instructed one of the sound guys to pick out some background sound to mix in, not imagining anyone would dig so deep into the backing sound for the backing sound. I think this criticism's a bit anally retentive.

Couldn't he have just, like, had the apples already?

Sorry. I was sarcastically remarking on how the original complaint was rather picky and unnecessary.;)

 Thanks.
Actually, you're probably right that a threatening-sounding non-english sound clip was chosen in a hurry.

I like apples! A tree in my backyard grows some tasty tart ones, too...
...yum...
