I searched this up and fell down a rabbit-- no, cat-- hole-- no, box. *Coughs*

Anyway, found this link to some interesting information about Sindarin vs. Quenya. Most of these were fairly intuitive after thinking about them.

You only know the words you know.

When Gandolf died in Moria and had his spirit rehoused as Gandolf the White, how did he regain the elf-ring?

Leaving aside the apparent controversy over whether Gandalf is reincarnated or resurrected (I said the latter), this misspelling of his name is really annoying. I wonder if it's because of this guy's last name (RIP).

How inaccurate would it be to describe Sauron as a Balrog?

After all, he's a Maiar devotee of Morgoth with a pretty strong association with fire.

Wasn’t Pippin essentially responsible for the “death”of Gandalf the Grey by throwing that rock down the well in Moria? Once they escaped, do you think anyone else in The Fellowship said, “Hey, way to kill Gandalf, Pippin.”?

If Pippin didn't indirectly kill Gandalf, someone else would have; his death was necessary for the story to go forward.

I have to question whether Pippin had anything to do with it. When the Company enters Moria there is a "shattering echo" when the Watcher closes the doors, and they weren't being particularly quiet as they walked through the halls. I think it at least plausible that the orcs were aware of them before Pippin's rock. I also have a theory that the Fellowship heard the tom-tap, tap-tom because of the well. There might very well have been signals before and after that, unheard by the Company through the thick stone walls.

How did Gil-Galad and Elendil possibly defeat Sauron with his ring? I know they were very powerful, but Sauron with the ring in the heart of his territory with Maiar powers should be able to crush them. How did they win?

Kudos! In all the times I have read LOTR I had never thought about the stupendous noise making at the Doors of Durin being a doorbell.
