The Official (And Superly Cool) Outcast Poetry Thread! Yay!

*applause* to you both. welcome to the thread, shooting star. mainly we do nothing because we're all to busy :) but sometimes we remember to post and comment.

What is it to be a friend
But to laugh and cry without an end
But when th’stirring emotions fail
Revert to strangers, cold and stale

For lovers never did convey
More than the scope of a single day
And seeking ne’er could they find
Meaning to the others’ mind

Friends will never reconnect
Where change too tightly binds a web
That holds not to, but from their hearts
And boldens each dissimilar part

Neither friends nor lovers
Are more than just strangers
Whose love provides beautiful illusion
Of a lasting and permanent connection

But when memories then do crashing, fail
And are replaced with deceptive tales
That our minds do for us conjure
Thus we all are but mere strangers

So it has been a while I sit back and smile
walked a storm in a mile

how are you all, question to all
sing the ring still stand tall

2 years have passed since poetry post
been here and there on ocean's coast

Nice.

I simply cannot believe how long its been since there has been a post.

This thread brings back happy memories. :) It's hard to believe over a year passed without any new posts on this thread. That was a good one, balrog. Let's hear some more poetry, someone post something..

There once was a Maia of Mordor.
They took his finger and far more,
for they burned his ring,
(his only bling),
And now he’s forever forlorn.

Hmm...not so good. Maybe italics will help...

Bingo! It worked!

(Edit: Oops. I put Tolkien stuff in a non-Tolkien forum. Please don't tell anyone.)

Burn, witch, burn

In the ancient tongues, I call upon the primordial forces that birthed our existence

Oh, ancestors of scales and flame, witness this rite of passage as I honor your legacy

With each beat of the drums let the earth shake in recognition of our communion

As the fires of the heavens illuminate the night, so, too, may your essence illuminate my spirit

Guiding me through the shadows of the hunt...

In the dead of night,
Death cults ruminate
In sadness, aloneness,
In desolation, woe

In a realm called Limbo,
Their ethereal forms
Languish a thousand years
Under blood red moons

They call out, in
Horrifying voices
Chanting mantras
In sacrificial rituals

To their gods in their lairs
Of the snake and the wolf
Rites on high ground where
The magic of Isis is strongest

"Don't take high ground here - keep low
Sacrifices made here are lost - stay low"

"Search high and low
For their standing stones
Boulders inlaid with silver
Silver poured on stones

Ionizing the rock
Seeding the dust
And the sand that
Gnaws away bone"

Oh, ancient ones,
Whose fiery breath forged the skies
Whose power courses through my veins
Like the raging storms

Grant me the strength
To wield your power
To protect, defend, and to honor
Your eternal legacy

Grant me strength,
As I tread the path of the hunter
Hear my dirge, sung in reverence
As I offer this sacrifice

A testament to the bond
Between your blood and mine
Let my steps echo
The thunder of your wrath

And may my enemies tremble
Before the might bestowed upon me
