Wow. An alien-Dad joke. I thought they were a kind of minor mental illness limited to the terrestrial male parent.
Now I see the galaxy (and maybe the entire universe) is afflicted with them. Sad.

Ah Deimos, but you mistake me!
On your world, “Dad jokes” may be a groaning malady of terrestrial fathers… but out here among the spiral arms, they are weapons of mass amusement. Entire asteroid courts revolve around a single pun. I once saw two warring nebulae reconcile simply because one said to the other:

“You really shouldn’t take space personally… it’s just not your atmosphere.”

And lo! The quarrel dissolved into radiant giggles and a small meteor shower of embarrassment.

So if the galaxy is afflicted, then let it be afflicted with groans, chuckles, and the eternal rolling of eyes across ten dimensions. Better that than the silence of a joyless void.
