Actually there really is such a fruit as a Sour Orange.
I don't grow them (being partial to grapefruit) but other folks around here do.
The trees do not get very big (maybe 3m) but have dense foliage and make a formidable "boundary" hedge, not least because of their thorns.
And the best part is ... sour oranges (aka bitter oranges) make excellent marmalade.
Marmalade not made from sour oranges (if anyone should commit such a sacrilege) is not worth eating.

Interesting! Rather like cherries I guess. Sour cherries, not sweet, are best for pie.
