The Rings of Power Has Five Seasons

Your reactions make no sense, neither to a true Tolkien fan nor to a fan of the series.
Still, I'd be interested to know where you're having your lovely series discussions instead, if it's not the Barbie forum. Don't worry, I'm certainly not going to register to troll you there, unlike you I have neither the time nor the inclination. Still, I'd be interested to know where this series is discussed in a safe space free of Tolkien fans and free of series haters... I mean, there's already enough censorship here, but if it's already too much for you here...
Censorship ... 😆

There are quite a few places around the WWW that doesn't allow the usual 'amazon blah blah/woke blah blah/it's crap blah blah/it doesn't follow every dot and tittle of what was written blah blah, etc. commentary in the discussions. There is a place for the haters to share their hatred of the series with each other, and there is a place for those who manage to get past the usual tripe and actually discuss the series. Win Win.

I do have to laugh at all the worry about what Amazon Bezos spends his money on. Too funny.

Goodness, this has all been said before.
We wonders why it must be said again.. yesssss we wonders my precious.

the interesting thing about the comments are not one scrap of what was shared was in any way profitable for anyone, much less Tolkien, the focus of this forum.

Be cautious, precious... some of the comments made above border on insults.
We won't 'go there'.

Let's be honest now and completely without irony.
- With cinematic media, it's clear that not everything can be realized exactly as in the book. There are many different reasons for this, which we don't need to list here. And I certainly understand that. However, this series has a lot of changes that are unnecessary, pointless and make everything worse.
- Even if you ignore the fact that it's supposed to have something to do with Tolkien, the series is pretty sub-par compared to what is generally considered to be high quality TV series. The series is boring, illogical and inconsistent. The dialog is a disaster and the characters are often very unlikeable.

So it has been said. Thousands of times.
And?
It has been said thousands of time that Frodo went to Valinor, yet people still ask that question.
You have said thousands of times, that it has been said thousands of times, and you keep repeating we should relax, yet, I got a feeling that you are the only one who is not relaxed.
I mean, isn't it better for forum to have discussions, even if they are talking about same subject, then be silent here?

Ironically, that doesn't seem to stop some people from enjoying it.
From this forum, I only noticed one person - our friend Halasian, and all the others are strictly negative, or neutral towards the series.
And I have a strong feeling that buddy Halasian is more contradicting the rest of us, to make discussion interesting, then he really internally like the show.
But if he really likes it - I am happy for him.

Deal with it.
There's nothing to deal with.
We that dislike the series will keep posting about our disliking, and if the series don't really make 180 degree turn in the season 2, I expect that these kind of post will be much more often during and after emitting season 2.
Sure, I appreciate and looking forward from anyone who finds something positive about the series and post it here.

Let forum live natural life...

Just my suggestion.

Oh, trust me @d4rk3lf, I intend to let the forum live a natural life.
The negative nellies will fuss and spew and publish all kinds of undirected and meaningless stuff as they vent, accomplishing nothing, saying nothing new, but somehow thinking they're "making a difference."

I say "bless the 37% and curse the 63%, OR "curse the 37% and bless the 63%," do it once, and move on.
Negativity however,is like a magnet. It draws others in. They love to gather into groups, circle the wagons, and talk negatively, negatively, negatively, endlessly, never reaching the end of their negativity, or getting anything done. It is a curse of Melkor.

I fully anticipate this to go on, and get worse. I know the players, I know the game, and I know precisely what any person is going to say on any side of the coin.
Why? because it's all been said before.

The Forum will indeed "just be its natural self." "There is no new thing under the sun." And it is very difficult for a leopard to change its spots.

(And I DON'T speak of changing to like RoP. I speak of the basic nature of people, how they deal with things, and whether they ever learn. Some just never do.)

When people suffer trauma, such as many seem to have done over RoP, it's natural for those of us who have been through it to help them through the stages of grief.
Now... some may say what was suffered with RoP is not 'trauma'. However, I totally disagree.
The reaction of the negative Tolkien fans who cannot just move in is exactly the same as a Trauma victim who gets stuck in time.
Whether one likes RoP or dislikes it, the effort of an empathic person is to try to help the one stuck in time break free, and move on.

This is the different nature of 2 different kinds of people. Some like to wallow in the muck they're in, and attract others into that muck to behave just like they do. Others however, want to help the one stuck in the muck and expending needless and useless energy on something not able to be changed. on something more positivel.

I believe there's a forum somewhere called "the complaints forum". That's probably a far better place for most of the comments made about RoP now, because it's all been said before, countless thousands of times, and not one thing in the world has changed because of it.

Trauma is a tough thing.

I appreciate and looking forward from anyone who finds something positive about the series and post it here.
Doing such a thing on this forum is to invite a stream of vitriol. One does not do so often, before one realizes it's just better to say nothing at all.

The same pre-recorded tripe will be trotted out and played, bashing both it, and them.

I would personally look forward to any NEW and EVIDENTIAL sharing about any aspect of RoP. Unfortunately, all we have is 'pete and repeat' over and over and over.

Such a technique has been used by many governments to brainwash people into believing what's being said. Here, I beleve it just results in suppression of sharing by those who have a different view.

I feel very sad for anyone trying to post anything positive about RoP on this forum. In that sense, the core group has already essentially 'won' a great victory. But such is tyranny everywhere.

They receive regular criticism as well, with no reaction from you whatsoever.
Patently incorrect. Anywone bashing the PJ movies over and over and over, wasting their time and repeating the same old things, has received the same treatment.

I myself speak to specific things I find from PJ diminishing the show. I also speak of positive things. But I don't generalize, and whine ad nauseum, in repetitive fashion. It serves no purpose.

I've never been able to get across what I'm driving at here. It seems it passes through without hitting its target.

So... I quit.

It's also interesting I tossed an extra 'w' into 'anywone.' But the twigs often get crossed up.

That you would use the word 'treatment', though, is interesting.
Yes, 'treatment' is a very interesting word with many meanings, isn't it.

Which meaning did I intend? We wonders, my precious.... yessssss.... we wonders.

Which definitely excludes @Halasían , who seems to have taken (in the posts I've read in my rare visits to RoP threads) to snidely calling all criticism of RoP to stem from "haters". We've had some here, I'm guessing many having been banned, as they were from hate cesspits that don't care if they're ranting on JRRT, Star Wars, Marvel, whatever sites. Hal certainly isn't among the RoP-rah-rah gang, but he doesn't seem to realize, in a knee-jerk fashion I've come across too often in my life, that considering some media product garbage is a legitimate, if drastic, opinion. His posts have become rare, but tediously predictable.

But not about my many yegg-postings, surely, as each is singularly creative, different, refreshing.

Just like this 🥚ne.

🥚r n🥚t .

Surely not. There is no post like an @Elthir post.
Either directly related to, and comprehensive about, a subject or topic in view, or a scintillating yeggish affair of some kind, often followed by a yawn, and nap.

Both are useful additions to the Forum.

I gave season 1 a C- average, which was the same I gave Peter Jackson's Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings fanfic twenty years ago. I don't mind watching Rings of Power, warts and all. It has some good stuff and it has some cringeworthy stuff, like Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings fanfic. If I'm "the only one here who likes it" then I'll consider it a badge of honour. I may be the only one who says anything positiveish about Rings of Power here, because when I see someone new show up and say anything positive, they seem to just as quickly quit showing up. Understandable. It's the reason why I don't bother discussing the show here, because apparently I'm the only one here wishing to do so in a positive way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Sorry you lot have to keep on harping on and on about how crap you think RoP is. Again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. To quote the wise Ent "I quit."

Oh yes, Gandolorian
(who probably predicted this post), the reason my posts here are rare is because I'm elsewhere. I've come and gone from this site countless times over my 23 years here. I'm at 1880 in that time. You're 5590 in 5 years. Love your "input" here!

The show Still Standing only had four seasons, but 88 episodes.
And I doubt anyone could have predicted this post.

Or that I'd choose a picture of the Still Standing
cast. . . sitting!

Albeit somewhat predictably off topic though!
