Tolkien Artwork

[Annatar]

I think it would be good if you could always write which artist the picture is by. So you can find more pictures from this artist in an easier way.

Ah, Annatar! I did not expect you here so suddenly!

The thing is, sometimes it is in the tendency of human nature to leave certain things out. No wonder there is so much mystery in this world.

[Annatar]

I did not expect you here so suddenly!

My eye sees everything, and my servants are everywhere.

[Lómelindë Lindórië]

My eye sees everything

Normally mine do also. But when it comes to you, I'm afraid you have become an exception in recent times.

Though come to say, why would I be able to see through you anyway? You know of what I speak. Your times with Eonwe as Mairon are long past.

(And perhaps we shall continue this in our PM, lest we disrupt the harmonious flow of the artwork that this thread was intended for.)

"Beleriand and realms of the north" by Sirielle:

This bird's eye "satellite" view of Gondolin (and Tol Sirion) is from a Middle-earth map app:

Maedhros and Maglor:

The Fall of Fingolfin:

What strikes me deeply is not actually Fingolfin, but rather Melkor - his act of going down on one knee, and his face: it's almost showing remorse and regret for the outcome of their battle. At least from this artwork, I can see Melkor considered Fingolfin a highly worthy opponent, and he actually respected him.

Look into his eyes, and one can decipher a thousand emotions hidden within them - sadness, regret, victory, loss...

[Lómelindë Lindórië]

Eonwe, my Maia-of-Manwe equivalent (or, he might be higher than me in the hierarchy, who knows?):

[Melkor]

My eye sees everything

The great eye is ever watchful .

[Lómelindë Lindórië]

The great eye is ever watchful .

And so are mine.

[Lómelindë Lindórië]

Not necessarily Tolkien-related, but imagination knows no boundaries:

A Maia of Varda (could be Ilmarë):

In the earlier versions of Tolkien's legendarium, Ilmarë was named Erinti; she was a Valië of love, music, and beauty.

[Goldilocks Gamgee]

Tuor and Ulmo.

Eowyn & Faramir ... While everyone else is at the Black Gate, this is going on in the House of Healing...

[Squint-eyed Southerner]

There's always time for some hubba-hubba!

Nice painting-- though I think this one's more accurate for clothes at least:

[Goldilocks Gamgee]

Here's another version:

[Halasían]

Does cosplay count as 'art'?
Éowyn and Faramir

[Goldilocks Gamgee]

I know the current topic is Faramir and Eowyn, but I just found this piece of art of Goldberry, and I love it too much not to share.

[Goldilocks Gamgee]

I found more!

And more!
