I think I've seen this style of Balrog before but by Tolrone [click to enlarge]. It is my belief that Tolkien intended them to be more humanoid than the film rendered them, but certainly more demonic. I think all of them underestimate the level of shadow they enswathe themselves in.

From top left to top right and then starting back on the left:
Frodo, Sam, Bilbo, Pippin, Merry, Boromir, Aragorn (I really like this rendition), Gandalf, Gimli, Legolas, Elrond, Arwen, Galadriel, Éomer, Théodred, Faramir, Glorfindel, Gandalf, Tom Bombadil, Goldberry, Gollum?

Not bad, but after Galadriel there is Celeborn, Haldir and Gildor. The second old man with a white beard is Saruman.

Dang, close!

The second old man with a white beard is Saruman.

Oh jeez, I forgot I'd done Gandalf already.

Annatar, Lord of the Gifts

Nice. Looks inspired by the movie in a few respects, and yet I do not dislike that depiction of Frodo altogether, despite its shortcomings in my own imagination.

Despite all warnings, I must say I am intrigued by that one of Annatar:

Despite all warnings, I must say I am intrigued by that one of Annatar:

I'm with you! That one is amazing. I originally thought it was of Feanor (Originally being on a different site and only seeing the top half)

I thought it would have been Féanor, or one of his sons. Until I saw Annatar, and instinctively scrolled down...

Also the Eye had my realization it was not, since I saw it so vividly as being Mairon/Sauron after that.
