You know those population density statistics? Well, sometimes a statistic can be useless for practical purposes.
The Vatican City has an area of about half a square kilometer. So on a population density basis, it usually has two Popes per square kilometer ... 🙄

Then there was this time 2013 to 2022 ... 😳

In "The Hobbit" Tolkien describes Bilbo speaking, thinking, or dreaming of home on eleven occasions (by my count).

My two favorites involve bacon and eggs:

Chapter V (page 65 paragraph 2), ‘Riddles in The Dark’
He put the ring in his pocket almost without thinking…He did not go much further, but sat down on the cold floor and gave himself up to complete miserableness, for a long while. He thought of himself frying bacon and eggs in his own kitchen at home—for he could feel inside that it was high time for some meal or other; but that only made him miserabler.

Chapter VIII (page 143 paragraph 2), ‘Flies and Spiders’
That was one of his most miserable moments…So he sat himself down with his back to a tree, and not for the last time fell to thinking of his far-distant hobbit-hole with its beautiful pantries. He was deep in thoughts of bacon and eggs and toast and butter when he felt something touch him. Something like a strong sticky string…

In Switzerland, it is illegal to own just one guinea pig because they are considered social animals and it is considered animal abuse to deprive them of companionship.

An incredible tidbit, coming to you from "Need To Know Facts": In Queensland, Austraila it's illegal to own a pet rabbit unless you're a magician. (it's true, it's true.)

Of course... they have their reasons.

Of the Alligator:

"Alligators have about 75 teeth in their mouths at any one time, but as the teeth wear down or break off, they are replaced. As a result, many can have about 3,000 teeth over the course of their lives. ".
.... interesting.

"You can also tell how big an alligator is by the distance between its eyes: the greater the distance, the longer the alligator."
... 1. 'duh'.
... 2. Ent doesn't plan on getting close enough to do the measurement.

The chief baker of the Titanic, Charles Joughin, supposedly treaded water for two hours before he was found. He claimed the copious amounts of whiskey he had consumed before the ship sank had kept his body warm enough to sustain the subfreezing water.
