I was just wondering if anyone knew because he was at Rivendell at the time and was a high elf respected among the noldor so why wouldn't he be invited? If anyone knows if Jackson put glorfindel int he movie please speak
In the book, Glorfindel contributes to the discussion about sending the ring to Tom Bombadil, so no problem there for PJ. Next it is Glorfindel who suggests that "two things only remain for us to attempt: to send it over the sea or to destroy it."
In the film, it is Legolas who suggests the destruction of the Ring. I don't remember anyone suggesting casting it into the sea (anyone?). If either of these are suggested by an unnamed blond Elf, then that could be Glorfindel. I think this is unlikely, though. If the 'Quintessential' website had made up the names given to the blond Elves, they would probably have made up names for the others too. It looks like we can't even pretend one of the Elves might be Glorfindel.
