What are you watching?

Another stunning clip from fairytale princess IU's Golden Hour concert has been released:

Thousands of the concertgoers, knowing the many struggles she's gone through, must have been in tears.

I, of course, was not (sniff😥).

Edit: Here are the first clips I posted from the concert, for anyone foolish enough to have skipped them:

Mt wife are currently working our way through Babylon 5, which we have never seen before. The quality of writing and the ability of the actors to rise to them are all very good. It has to be the best SF series I have seen. Delenn is, in my view, the best written and portrayed female character is movie of TV SF.

Harlan Ellison was a consultant on that series.

It's one of my favorite SF series, too. I watched it when it first came out. I tried to rewatch the series on one of the streaming channels, but then they dropped the show. ☹️

I am going to keep my eye out for them.

I am far from a fan of Ellison, but the combination worked this time.
After all these years, my "personal jury" is still out on Harlan Ellison.
Why are you not a fan of Harlan?

I found his take on things generally loathsome and his stories horrible. But that might just be me... Plus he groped Connie Willis.

Didn't know about the grope. I don't consider his stories (the few that I've read) as loathsome or horrible, but they certainly are dark.
It's also odd, because he wrote the screenplay for probably the best episode ever of any Star Trek series/spinoff:
The City on the Edge of Forever (TOS, first season aired April 1967)

A little anecdote: I was in the audience when that episode was being screened at Discon II, the World Science Fiction Convention, in 1974 -- this in the days before ST was regularly seen in syndication, and screenings were rare. At the crucial moment near the end, someone tripped over the projector trolley, knocking the projector askew, and the image from the screen over to an adjacent wall.

The howls must have been heard throughout the hotel.

I'm surprised that you failed to mention the tar and feathering that followed that little mishap 😈

A second anecdote related to that episode, this time not one I was personally present for, but told of by another fan:

Ellison had a well-deserved reputation for not suffering fools gladly. As Guest of Honor at another early con, he talked about the writing and production of City. During the Q and A, a guy got up and took issue with the idea of "writing" Star Trek, insisting the series was so uniquely great that the actors spontaneously improvised all the dialog.

My friend didn't repeat Ellison's white-hot reply, so you'll have to use your imagination.

I make a mental note (soon to be forgotten) that 27 years before this thread that you resurrected elsewhere ...

... stupidity in breathtaking form already existed.
But then Einstein died in 1955, and let off his snort about the two infinities earlier, obviously.

the combination worked this time.
Beyond B5 and City, Ellison wrote for a number of other shows, including two memorable episodes for the original Outer Limits: "Soldier" and "Demon with a Glass Hand".

Few will remember a series he created, 1973's The Starlost, starring 2001's Keir Dullea, which appears on many a "Worst Sci-fi Shows" list. Ellison was so disgusted with the budget cuts and general dumbing-down of the production that he washed his hands of the project, and insisted his name be removed.

Sounds like an interesting show. Where are you watching it?
