. . . did I misunderstand your reading of QS (HOME V) that, due to the sentence order (or whatever),
the march to the North must come before Eonwe comes up out of the West (and thus be in Aman)?
That was one potential argument, but if(!) I am wrong about the "faring forth", then I am happy with "little is known" being a "spoiler" to the remnant elf-less march as you described. I admitted that above because that is exactly how I read it in the published work originally (hence the smiley), before I read HoME. But this is a distraction from the elephant in the room IMO.

Which is the summons. IMO the remnant Elves were included in the summons with the Fathers of men, which (in addition to Elrond's eyewitness account in LotR) makes the "little is known" bit nonsensical, unless they chose not to go (apart from Elrond!).

Hope I have clarified rather than adding more confusion!

I was thinking more of that tantalizing " . . . and especially in the western isles and in the Land of Leithien."

Although I might be attaching a holdover type significance to this!
I gave the origin & location, you gave the name. Division of labour!

Glorfindel. But I was deeply considering other as melkor or sauron have between them been involved in almost every single war in middle earth so now I think of it I would probably say one of those two. If it is in actual participation in the wars I would have to say glorfindel as when he leads he has a simmalar style to Aragon: by example. Those two both tend to put themselves on the front lines. The reason why glorfindel gets my vote over Aragon is as simple as he is far older and has had agreater opportunities to fight in more wars than Aragon

Apart from the First Battle, Dagor-Nuin-Giliath, Dagor Aglareb, Dagor Bragollach, Nirnaeth Arnoediad and the War of Wrath, which character fought in the most Minor Battles of Beleriand out of all the other Battles of Beleriand? I say Turin because according to lotr.fandom, he fought in 8 Minor Battles of Beleriand.

Skirmishes on the marches of Doriath
Skirmishes of the Land of Bow and Helm
Sack of Amon Rûdh
Battle of Talath Dirnen
Skirmishes of the Falas
Battle of Tumhalad
Fall of Nargothrond
Battle of the forest of Brethil
