Ghân-buri-Ghân was the leader of the Drúedains, often referred to as Wildmen or Woses, who dwelled in the Drúadan Forest in the Third Age.
Biography
Ghân-buri-Ghân was an uncivilized, short man with a deep voice who wore nothing but a grass skirt. He went by his father’s name, who was called Ghân as well. During the War of the Ring, Ghân aided King Théoden and Rohirrim by guiding them through a secret pathway of Stonewain Valley. This protected the Rohirrim army from being attacked by the Orcs on their way to Pelennor Fields. [1] Theoden thanked Ghân for his favor and promised him to help the Druedain drive the Gorgûn (Orcs) away, who have been troubling them for ages. But, Ghân wanted the Rohirrim to leave them alone and not hunt them down anymore. After the War of the Ring, Drúadan Forest only belonged to Ghân-buri-Ghân and his men, as per the decree issued by Aragorn, King of the Reunited Kingdom.
