War of the Ring refers to the series of wars related to Sauron's Ring of Power. The war struggles between the forces of Sauron and the races in Endor that started in the Second Age. It led to the final destruction of Sauron but did not end with his death. Sauron's allies from the races of men fought on until they could not muster any dangerous attacks; Saruman lived after Sauron's fall and troubled inhabitants of the Shire; he achieved his deceit but failed in his course before he met his end. The war of Bywater against him marked the Third Age's end. The races of men, elves, dwarves, wizards, Hobbits, Tree-ents, Goblins, and eagles contributed to the defeat of Sauron, albeit, in different degrees.
Major Battles
Battles at the Fords of Isen
The fords of Isen were the only means to Rohan from Isen, which made it a crucial route for the outcome of the future war with Sauron. Two major battles occurred there and marked the beginning of the wars related to the Ring. The Rohirrim forces faced the servants of Saruman on different occasions from February to March 3019 TA. At Isen, Saruman aimed to kill Theodred, the heir, and only son of King Theoden of Rohan, and he achieved his aim as Theodred died in the battle.
Helm’s Deep
The battle at Helm’s deep [1] was between the Rohirrim forces and Saruman’s servants, especially his Uruk-hai. The battle was also called the Battle of Hornburg because the Rohirrim army sought refuge in Helm's Deep's fortress, Hornburg. King Theoden led his people to war after losing his son and heir.
Battle of Isengard
The Battle of Isengard was the extra-ordinary attack on Saruman’s fortress by a group of Ent-trees and Huorns. The attackers laid siege on Isengard, wrecked its ports, and demolished its walls [2] and dam. Consequently, the rivers flooded Saruman's fortress and filled its pits that were crucial for his creations.

The lady of Galadhrim destroyed the remains of Sauron's fortress' war and restored Mirkwood from its horrible state.
