🎶Music for Middle Earth

Voice teacher: I should not have accepted nerds...
One time she had a LotR sheet music book sitting out with Aragorn's face on the cover. I can't remember what the context was, but I needed something to focus my attention on (I might have been practicing acting through a song, now that I think about it). So I said, "I guess I'll sing for Aragorn... 😍" And she was like, "I don't blame you, that's not a bad idea."

I like listening to these three piano pieces based on the Silmarillion. Maglor's Lament, Laer Cú Beleg, and Nirnaeth Arnoediad.

The Nirnaeth one was very moving, with the pounding deep notes producing the heavy sense of gravity and devastation from the battle. Then it becomes quiet at 8:25, hitting the heart just right as it almost looks upon the silent battlefield in grief, seeing how many were lost. Very moving indeed. 😢

Yeah, it was really well done. It captured that sense of courage and devastation.

"Doriath", instrumental by Lind Erebros

"Canticle to Elbereth Gilthoniel", by The Fellowship

"Beware the Wolf", a song from Huan's perspective, by The Fellowship

Lyrics:
Come ye hunters all and heed my bay
Do you ride before the break of day
Through woven woods in elven lands
To find the starry-jeweled hand

Beware the wolf in darkness born
His eyes of fire his mien of scorn
His savage fell his rending claw
But most beware his crushing jaw

Love escaped upon my shadowed back
In trespass of the woven track
In a fearsome fight of fang and claw
Such howling carved these canyon walls

Beware the wolf in darkness born
His eyes of fire his mien of scorn
His savage fell his rending claw
But most beware his crushing jaw

Come ye hunters all and heed my bay
Let us ride before the break of day
Through woven woods in elven lands
To find the starry-jeweled hand

Beware the wolf in darkness born
His eyes of fire his mien of scorn
His savage fell his rending claw
But most beware his crushing jaw

Let the swift not linger for the slow
Come ye hunters ride the valley low
To the pits beneath the Iron Crown
Where the Nameless Man has been cast down

Come ye hunters all and heed my bay
Let us ride before the break of day
And course behind the wilding pack
In trespass of the woven track

Beware the wolf in darkness born
His eyes of fire his mien of scorn
His savage fell his rending claw
But most beware his crushing jaw

[Note: This thread was originally titled "Music for Rohan?", and my OP reflects this. I changed the title because, as you can see, things quickly got out of, um, han! :p]

Maybe -- At least I can imagine it at Meduseld. See what you think:

I think that “the road goes ever on and on” goes well with the tune of Chaconne (by Bach).
