That is such a perfect spot within the Lore to develop one's own story and not directly getting into conflict with the canon. You can develop a somewhat 'average' female lead, that isn't as powerful a being like
Galadriel would be, avoiding the kind of obnoxiously 'powerful' characters Fingon_Findekáno described, and tell the story from her perspective, graciously ignoring the lack of female leads in
Middle-Earth. The Setting of the Story is relatable for 'normal' movie goers that don't lurk around online Fantasy Forums since names like
Helm,
Rohan and
Dunlendings are all familiar due to their mentioning in the PJ Adaptations. And Helms Story, even though well known, doesn't go into too much detail, so that it acts more like a framework than the real content of the movie itself, leaving a lot of room for creativity. This, paired with an animation style that guarantees the movie's aesthetics to detach at least somewhat from the creative vision of Peter Jackson, gives me really high hopes for an excellent
Tolkien Adaptation I haven't seen for years but always wished for.
