I've made this thread so people can discuss scary events that they have personally experienced. Like, we've all been there once or twice, come on. AND THIS WILL BE A PLACE OF JUDGEMENT, so ppl can definitely judge you if your reaction was stupid. Also, it is encouraged that you express what you would've done in others situation.

Okay, here's like a mildly scary incident I've experienced -

So I was just sitting on a roof with my friends, but like we weren't entirely sure if we were like allowed to be on the roof so we were all like kinda worried. and then i shadowy figure literally appears out of nowhere from the stairs. just for context, there is only one entrance to teh top of the building. unfortunately, its also the only exit. so we were like stuck. And what did we do? We all just crouched to the ground. LIKE AS IF THAT WOULD HELP. turns out it was just our other friend.

another scary incident -
so what happened was that i was home alone and i heard like the front door open and i was like, oh just my imagination but nothing wrong with checking. i went downstairs to check and there was nobody home. THEN i heard fridge doors slamming. and then a laugh. there are no words to describe how terrified i was. in all seriousness. i was so scared. and then i thought, 'maybe those youtube videos are real'. and then i thought, 'OMG THERES A FRICKIN DEMON IN MY HOUSE'. like i genuinely thought a demon was in my home. so i knocked on a door bc i heard that door close and i was like omg whatever is in my house went in there. and at first i heard no answer and i was like 'this cannot be happening'. AND THEN I RAN OUTSIDE and was literally about to run away WHEN I DISCOVERED IT WAS JUST MY FRIEND. BUT i genuinely... like this is the most terrifying thing thats happened to me. i genuinely thought there was a demon in my house.

All of these were L reactions.

Well, I recently watched Avatar 3 with some of my friends, and while the movie itself wasn't scary, my friend's reaction to me saying that Jake Sully should have killed Spider was very scary. Apparently they are all very attached to that character. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I agree with your friends. There is something about that character that's very appealing. idk what it is.

I mean, he's a cool character and all that, but if Jake Sully had killed him then that could have been the starting point of his villain arc. They need new material for the movies, after all, it would be interesting if they made Jake Sully into a villain, since he already has villainous elements in his personality (look at how he treats his son). But yeah, I'm getting a bit of topic here. Point is, my friends can be a quite scary when I suggest that beloved characters should bite the dust. Avatar 3 definitely needed more major characters to die, though. There was an entire war and somehow everyone survived.

But i dont want Spider to die. I mean I get what youre saying tho. It was interesting bc in the other movies it was kinda like very 'bad is bad, good is good'. especially the first. the whole entire first movie was stupid. so i liked the third. Also, the movie was more realistic in terms of tribal things. Like it was realistic that the mother didn't trust spider. bc thats very important for tribes. at least it wasnt a 'we are all friends here and love each other bc humanity is great' movie. But am I the only one who found the outcast thing silly? Like the scene where one of the characters said, 'if my brother is an outcast, then im an outcast.' and then everbody started saying 'im an outcast'. like at this point they arent outcasts anymore cuz they could just make a tribe from the outcasts. and u were soo right when u said that major characters needed to die. and is it just me or was this like the exact same as the second movie? didnt the second movie end like that too? idk i cant remember. i mean there r always these huge battles soo.

I had my scariest hiking experience last winter about this time. My dad, brothers, and I were out somewhere and decided to go for a short hike before going home. We soon found a place and parked at the trailhead. The entire ground was ice with a deceiving dusting of snow overtop. Parts were steeply inclined up and others down. One section was a narrow ledge that dropped off into a pool and frozen waterfall; I was to uncertain to try it so I had to scramble up the bank (my younger brother just slid around it somehow! 😳 I think once his tracks left bare ice it was far more dangerous.) I guess we kept going because the beginning wasn't so bad. It was rather like a roller coaster ride with skillful movement required and real risk involved. We are getting cramp-ons or something before doing that again! 😅

That sounds dangerous. I've heard bad stories of ppl walking on ice. I can't relate since i barely leave my room. You must live in a cold climate. What I'd give to live in a cold climate...

I live in Pennsylvania so its about a medium climate. Most of the time its ok - a mix of patchy snow and ice. I am wishing for real snow, feet of it, because we have not had heavy snowfall for many years, even decades around here.

I live in Dubai. L country. The rumors aren't true.

Oh, Pennsylvania! I have a friend that lives there. It sounds really nice.

Yah, that sounds tough. Over here, it hasn't rained for like a year. I mean, its rained, but not rained enough for me. Like its rained like once.

I'll PM you about it so we don't derail the thread.

One late night long ago, when Ent was but a sapling working at a Denny's restaurant as a cook, two people decided to have an argument. Apparently they felt it a good idea - not only for themselves, but for everyone else around.

Well, they ended up outside the resturant fighting. One of the waitresses came to Ent saying we needed to call the police.
However, our restaurant had no inside phone for us to use. Ent needed to go outside and walk right past them to get to the pay phone. (Yes, there were outside pay phones in those days.)

The scary part? By the time Ent was walking by, one had the other down on the pavement, with a gun to his head.

One hopes they re-thought the matter later, and decided having arguments wasn't such a good idea after all.

The sun was bright, the day pleasant. Ent was driving his 1962 Chevy Nova II down the roadway at one end of the airport. He was heading home, a friend in his car.

Construction was in progress in the airport. Trucks were coming and going regularly through a new entrance to it made on this particular road. They frequently sat on the inside lane, left turn signals on, waiting to turn into the construction area.

Ent noted the truck, inside lane, signal on. Ent was passing in the outside lane, almost fully beside the truck, suspecting nothing.
Out from in front of the truck where he could not be seen, jumped a flagman, waving frantically for Ent to stop. There was, of course, no time - but Ent considered trying as he passed the front of the truck, the flagman now jumping out of his way.

Ent concluded the flagman had the approximate intelligence of a yurt, standing hidden behind the front of the truck where he could not be seen - so as Ent passed the truck, he looked to the left.
About all he could see, was the large, silver grate of a rather consequential dump truck filling the bulk of his window as it bore down on him - also unable to stop.

Ent chose to depress the accelerator somewhat firmly. To his memory, that Chevy Nova had never responded so quickly, nor did it ever afterward. Collision was avoided.

When it was all over, his friend beside him asked... "What just happened?"

One hopes the flagman learned standing directly in front of a big truck waiting to turn into a construction zone, is not the place to be when executing his traffic control duties for the safety of others.

We were "hunting." An overcast day, as Ent recalls - and as though Ent would really have shot anything, had he the chance..!
As was custom, Father Ent had come across a ridge down the south rise - one leg of the horseshoe draw where we were hunting this trip.
Brother-in-law and sister Ent had come down the north rise, across the flat at the bottom, and again halfway up the south rise.
Ent had worked his way to central position on the south rise opposite, where Father and Team Brother/Sister would converge.
The theory was, of course, any game in the draw would emerge heading toward Ent (who had no intention of shooting it even if he saw it - but they did not know that.)

Well. No game emerged.

Meeting up, somehow our conversation turned to our weaponry. Ent was packing his grandfather's .30-06. A most beautiful piece.
Father Ent remarked about Grandpa's use of it, and how he had worked the safety with graphite until it could be released without the least of sounds.

Ent pointed the rifle to the ground, and proceeded to demonstrate.
The safety indeed made no sound whatsoever. But Boom. The blast of cartridge powder split the woods with its roar as a bullet flew from the barrel.

The gun's barrel was pointed downward as noted - about 1 inch to the side of Ent's left root.

One can trust Ent learned to be very cautious when releasing safeties on weaponry. He had never considered doing so could also cause a piece to fire.
One also knows after the event, there was certainly no game left in those parts of the wood, so team Ent moved to alternate ground.

Why? U vegan?
No, not vegan. Ent's sustenance is of course nutrient uptake, osmosis, photosynthesis, root interception, cation, and the like, forming a symbiotic relationship with and within the environment.

It is not Ent's place to disorder the natural - and certainly not to extinguish life of any kind where it can be avoided.

Ent learned of the sad 'hunting and fishing' catastrophe when but a wee sprout. He even (sadly) participated in the massacre of fish during his years as a shoot reaching for sapling age. But eventually abandoned this as there was no NEED. And of course, he never ended the life of any game.

The results of the massacre of the defenseless is seen now worldwide - but the human has still not learned. There is not even enough left for those who actually do NEED.

(You see - there is a huge difference between "Need," "Want," and 'Greed" (the last 2 usually closely connected) and the pure lust for killing.)

Ent ultimately exchaned his fishing gear and weaponry for a camera and the joy of an existence coherent with, and absent to, harm to others also existant.
