fellowship of the ring

"To Them, and to all who have been pleased by this book, especially those Across the Water for whom it is specially intended, I dedicate this edition" Do we know who he is referring to as Across the Water? Anyone living outside of Great Britain or perhaps the other side of the Atlantic or...

When Gandalf realized they're being trailed by a belrog, was he the only one that knew what a balrog is? In the movie, Legalos seemed to react to Gandalf's proclamation with a slightly knowing look, but maybe I'm just over-reading him. As old as Legolas was, the belrogs preceded him by thousands...

What if the fellowship after Gandalf fell decided to go to Gondor with Boromir? What would have happened then? Any ideas?

what if frodo had asked the rest of the fellowship after gandalf's moria departure to split up and to allow him and sam to go on alone to mordor? where would the other remaining members have gone? Any ideas?

What If The Fellowship Of The Ring Never Split Up? What Would Happen Then?

I think the clear best choice would be Legolas, but that may be based on his portrayal in the PJ films. Gandalf would be a close second with Aragorn in third! If you could also post the reasoning behind your choice that would be great! My reasoning behind Legolas as I've probably said is from...

If you were to build a new fellowship, using existing characters who were alive at the time of the book, who would you choose and why?

Hi everyone In 2018, as many of you probably know, Reprise Records released box sets of the soundtracks of the movies on vinyl. Last year I discovered this and after a while I owned the complete set. The reason I am making a thread here is because I was wondering if there are some others who...

I think he did it smart on that one. In the book Gollum is depicted as dark. But realistically if you were in a cave with no sunlight, being pale is most likely to be a thing. But in Fellowship of the Ring movie, Gollum is depicted as dark looking in that one. And then Two Towers is when you...

Hi everyone. For a long time I've been pondering the fact that Legolas might have children. I know the common opinion online is that he does no have kids, but hear me out. In Book 3 (TT), ch.5 "The White Rider", Legolas says about Fangorn "It is old, very old, said the Elf. So old that almost...

did gandalf join the fellowship of the ring just because of The durins Bane balrog and the need to protect frodo and the rest of the fellowship from it? or did he join out of an honest desire to help? also how is it that only gandalf from the entire fellowship could destroy durins bane?

The other two (Return of the King in particular) are deeply flawed. But Fellowship is perfect. Well, alright, Hugo Weaving wasn't the greatest, and the Council scene felt a little bit perfunctory... but other than that, bring it on. I'm a film director myself, and in my opinion on this one they...

Hello friends, I would like to ask you how much worth is this vinyl collection in your opinion. I've got this 2018 limited edition lord of the rings fellowship of the ring on Vinyl (copy number 1955/5000) it was opened but i have kept it in best possible shape. I wanted to put it on ebay...

I saw the first movie in theaters. I was 10 or 11 years old. Now I’ve read the book. Someone congratulate me You’re nuts

JRRT was no stranger to military hardships, but I wonder if the way the Fellowship traveled can withstand a fact check from other outdoor experts. The Fellowship traveled from Rivendell to Lothlórien from 25/12 to 17/1. Even with 1 pony, I was wondering how 9 companions can go on marching on...

Well met! Mae govannen, mellyn! I found an awesome musical band that is inspired by Tolkien and his wonderful, lush, rich languages. It's called "The Fellowship" and their album(s) In Elven Lands has lovely music that echoes Rivendell and Beleriand of Middle-earth history and yore. It's on...

Hello, I hope this is the correct subcategory for this... A while ago I saw TTT and ROTK of the 2013 Harper Collins special edition and bought them on a whim, but I've been unable to find a copy of the Fellowship of the same edition. It appears to be very rare, and costs over 2000$ on amazon...

What would LotR have looked like if Radagast and his Roscobel Rabbits had made it onto the set? The story had begun to grow darker by then. Where could PJ have introduced this bouncy, jovial creation; liaising with Saruman, meeting Gandalf near Bree, spreading Gandalf's news to the birds and...
