Please No Spoilers! This thread is for speculation.
I'm sure many have seen the trailer of ROTK. Similar film was shown on the ABC program last night, in which you can see Elrond giving the sword Andúril to Aragorn in what appears to be a Rohan tent.
Certainly this is a major divergence of the story as told by Tolkien, but I would like to focus on speculation as to where and when it will happen in PJ's film.
One scenario could be this: Aragorn starts out on the Ride of the Rohirrim after there muster (perhaps now at Edoras). On the way, they are met by Elrond. Elrond gives Aragorn Andúril and tells him the verse about the Paths of the Dead. Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas (and a few others, who knows...) head off for the Paths of the Dead.
The story then more closely follows the story as told by Tolkien with the arrival and initial victory of the Rohirrim on the Pelennor Fields. Aragorn and crew jump off the ships as in the story and Aragorn and Éomer join swords at Pelennor.
Once again, if you have seen the film, Please no spoilers!. This thread is for speculation.
Do you think this is the likely sequence of events or can you put the scene of Elrond, Aragorn, Andúril and a Rohan tent in a different sequence that makes more sense to you?
