From April 29th to May 5th is Glorfindel Week! (As declared by the paragon of fandomness, Tumblr.) For my part, I could not resist the opportunity to do something to show appreciation for my favorite Elf. Thanks to Madhelko alerting me of the event and to Amelikin for design consultation, and of course, thanks to Canva for the amazing platform it is.

And now, I present to you my creation...

Dear Glorfindel,

Thank you for aiding in the salvation of Middle-Earth in Ages long past. If it were not for your great sacrifice in Gondolin, Tuor and Idril would have been lost, and Eärendil would not have made it to Valinor to plead the case of the Children of Ilúvatar. The unforeseen hope of both Elves and Men would not have come to pass in the First Age. Thank you for helping to bring about this eucatastrophe in your noble fall. Furthermore, thank you for accepting no small task of becoming the Emissary of the Valar, returning reimbodied with great power, with which comes great responsibility. Your re-entrance to Middle-Earth was an answer to the prayers of the Free Peoples of Middle-Earth of the Second Age, for those who sought the Valar's assistance were answered, also beyond expectation. Your role in Middle-Earth in your two lives was crucial in the plan of the One, and your willingness and humility to accept that calling as servant to others presented the Witch-King's eventual doom and saved the Ringbearer in the Third Age. How many things would not have come about had you not chosen to return, or had not chosen to fight the Balrog? The domino effect of your deeds is not lost on me, so again, thank you beyond even words from my heart. A star shines upon the hour of anyone's meeting you.

Always remember you are the amazing, hard-working, persevering young lady of faith you are! I am even more thankful you are a dear friend of mine. I will never forget it was because of you I became truly invested in TTF before I joined. (Fun fact: I was actually a teensy bit star-struck when I got the notification you had started following me. 🤣)
You will always be Calwendë, the maiden of light, who takes heart in the hope of eternity beyond any sufferings in the world to be faced, and you will continue to become the stronger and more radiant for it!

(P.S. If you're wondering where the new nickname "Maitimelia" came from, it's not just a happy coincidence of combining Maitimo and Amelia. As an integral member of TTF Youth from the conception, you had to know one was coming eventually. Rest assured, you were never forgotten. The verse I picked out for you was the first factor in my mind of how I was going to frame this for you, and it all just came together after that idea. I am actually so hyped about the artwork I found for you, AND IT WAS THE FIRST ONE I SAW. I went, This is PERFECT for Vorondil. Literally describes your status as Servant of the Lord, and it also describes your status as a Serpent Slayer (both literal and figurative)-- simply describes who you are and what you do. Anyways, here you are! Cheers!☺️
