It seems really unlikely that Goldberry and her would be the same person.
Nimrodel was a maiden from Lothlorien, she also was King Amroth's lover.she became sorrowful when the dwarves awakened the Durin's bane and darkened the woods of lorien ...she told amroth that he should leave middle earth with her if he wants to marry her ...they departed to the havens together and lost each other in the way ... amroth reached the havens and waited for her for a long time...but she never came and the most possible theory is that she died in the misty mountainsIf you don't mind me asking, what is a Nimrodel? Either I don't know what that is or at least don't remember.
The writer's theory was that she had blonde hair .. which is nearly non-existent between the Nandor,so she could be a one of the lesser maiarIn "Lothlorien" in the Fellowship of the Rings, Legolas sings part of a ballad about her and tells a little of her story.
Nimrodel was an elf who once lived in Lothlorien. She and other elves left to go to the sea to take a ship to the Undying Lands.
It seems really unlikely that Goldberry and her would be the same person.
Nimrodel was an elf and was in love with Amroth.
Goldberry is the River's Daughter and is married to Tom Bombadil.
I think that makes sense... thanksGoldberry predates Nimrodel, as she -- along with Tom Bombadil-- appeared in the poem "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil", first published in The Oxford Magazine in 1934. As far as I can tell, Nimrodel came into existence as a character no earlier than 1940. Tolkien tried several different names for her, and Amroth, before settling on the final versions.
There have been innumerable theories attempting to fit Goldberry and TB into the legendarium, but Tolkien said Tom was meant to embody "the spirit of the English countryside", and Goldberry represents "the changing of the seasons".
LOTR is the story of the Ring,, and its power "is not a delusion -- but it is not the whole picture. . .".
Thanks ☺️Here's a few more on Goldberry, if you're interested in some TTF-historical threads. TB and Goldberry are hot topics here:
Sure, and if you see any threads in there that are archived that you'd like to reply to/reopen for discussion, let me know and I'd be happy to move it to active. Also, if you have any other topics you're interested in I'd be happy to try and find threads for you (or anyone else!) if they exist too. If it's a Tolkien topic, it's probably been discussed here at least onceThanks ☺️
