🧝Elvish and 🌳Ent 🍲food…

Ent isn't sure Lobelia Sackville-Baggins had heard much about natural resistance to evil.

And given the writing, Ent wouldn't characterize the situation with the hobbits as "an easy time resisting the ring" probably, either - though of course others may

We do know of two Hobbits that had a pretty strong resistance to it, and a third one that - though using it pretty much at will - didn't succumb to its evil, though he too was adversely impacted by it and only let it go under coercion. Smeagol, considered by many to be most likely an ancestor of Hobbits, certainly had no resistance... neither did his brother Deagol.

Ent concludes the resistance isn't a factor of the race, but the particular individuals involved.

We can look to Galadriel, and Faramir, for others who had, as individuals, similar resistance to its pull. And certainly to Gandalf. Though he was almost certainly Maia, nonetheless many Maia were turned to evil by Melkor.

No, Ent can't see the Holbytla as having any special resistance due to their race or especial 'magical powers'. (Nor is he certain they are ever attributed with any special 'magical power' other than their ability to vanish quite quickly when the bigger folk came blundering about.)

So those are Ent's thoughts. Feel free to disagree. We must not be hasty.

Ent wonders, too, what the original post 'statement' about resisting the ring has to do with the post Title, "Elvish and Ent food...".
But then, Ent is full of wonder

I thought yeggs were going to feature, at least in part, in this thread.

And now they have 🥚🥚🥚

There's been a noted lack of egg posts on the forum. I wonder what happened?

Eggcentricities never really go away.
As may be eggspected, there are those who get eggcited, both positively and negatively, about the matter.

Bingo. 🙂
(Vulgate, Ecclesiastes 1:10)
Bingo (Baggins) was an early incarnation in JRRT's LoTR writing of the character that would become Frodo.

Jes' sayin' (I admit I stole that from @Elthir , but hey, with some guy named William from England a bit over 400 years ago, and some guy named Bertholt from Germany roughly in the middle third of the 20th century, I certainly have famous examples to emulate ... 😏 )

Their Elvish cloaks and rope warded off evil as well. Remember how Gollum couldn’t fathom having the Elvish rope around his leg and wanted to stay away from their cloaks.
