I didn't see a thread on this, so apologies if I missed one.

I'm currently rereading Tolkien's Farmer Giles of Ham and really like his "medieval England only with magic swords and Dragons" and was curious if he had written any other stories with a similar feel to them. I know that he had started (but left unfinished) a sequel. I was really hoping that he had written more like this.

If not Tolkien, are there any other authors who have written stories similar to FGoH?

I'm sure there are many, but one I've read that combines adventure with the kind of light-heartedness present in Farmer Giles is this:

It is. The novel was published in 1976, so not surprising.
I don't see Farmer Giles of Ham as "humorous fantasy," but rather as traditional fantasy with a tongue-in-cheek slant. The Terry Pratchett stuff that I read feels nothing like Tolkien to me. :(
The Discworld series is more involved with satire and parody, including if Tolkien, Howard, and others, at least in the early novels, so I agree with you there.

The Dickson was the first of a series, by the way, though I don't think I read the others.
