I have been reading the Hobbit, and wondered if PJ read this before doing the LOTR films. The reason being, In the Hobbit after they escape from the goblins without Bilbo, Bilbo escapes with the help of the ring, and comes to the Dwarves and Gandalf, he tells the story of his escape but does not say about the ring, and Gandalf says to dwarves "Mr Baggins has more about him than you guess".
When they are in Moria at Balins tomb, after Frodo is speared by the rock troll, Frodo says " i am alright i am not hurt", Gandalf says " this hobbit has more about him than you guess", then it is revealed that he is wearing a Meathril vest.
I just wondered if anyone else noticed this, and if you think PJ used this line from The Hobbit.

Book Gandalf says:
"You take after Bilbo. There is more about you than meets the eye, as I said of him long ago."
Book Frodo "wondered if the remark meant more than it said".
It was not until after the Mirromere that the mithril shirt was discovered - by Aragorn.
Obviously PJ would know both versions, and apparently preferred the wording from The Hobbit.

Oh well... I love it when people link things to the past. Its always fun! haha.

thats cool. i never noticed that relationship. i wouldn't be surprised if PJ used that from the hobbit. i love that part about how frodo is wearing the worth of the shire on his back!
