Tonight’s movie

Some are on free platforms like Tubi, a few are on others like Peacock and HBO, and a lot are on Plex both their free on demand and in other locations I may or may not have access to@Erestor Arcamen ...are you streaming all these ?( I assume you are).
If so, from where?
Peacock has most of the universal monster movie catalog all the time, worth it for those. Criterion and Tubi have a lot of hammer films available.I knew you could do it from Youtube, but a lot of people subscribe to streaming services.
..I wondered if one of them was running a "Halloween Special" listing a bazillion Horror movies (good and bad) 😄
I watched Freaks once before, but honestly didn't really like it. Apparently Tod Browning wanted it to be compassionate towards the disabled actors and actresses but there was huge backlash towards MGM both from people who thought it was exploitation and from audiences who were just disgusted by the appearance of the performers. I can kind of see both sides of it where he wanted to show them as the moral, good characters, but at the same time, the studio staff working on the film were repulsed and treated them poorly. It makes it hard to really know how to feel about the movie overall. Really, I think one watch was enough for me.@Erestor Arcamen ..is Freaks (1932) on your agenda?
It's a different sort of horror movie... the really terrifying part is the ending.
Also what about the silent film The Cabinet of Dr Caligari (1920 silent). The ending has a twist to it.
Forced on them over the objections of director and writer, in the same way as with "Night of the Demon". The history of the making of Caligari is even more convoluted. The ending has a twist to it.
I can't say I liked Freaks, but I was fascinated by it; I could watch it again.I watched Freaks once before, but honestly didn't really like it. I've also see Dr. Caligari and enjoyed it.
yeah no judgement at you at all, to each his own. It just wasn't my cup of tea I guess.I can't say I liked Freaks, but I was fascinated by it; I could watch it again.
And I knew about how the "actors" were treated.
