Looks like a good one to have!

I would be interested to know if any text editing will have occurred in any of these tales at this occasion.
I would suppose not.

I believe the release date is in October.
Might be a short enough delivery date for a pre-order.
I have two older books on my list anyway (or perhaps three), so I'll give it a try.
Visited my favorite bookstore earlier today, they confirmed the delivery date October for my pre-order.
And while I was there, also managed to order the Index volume to HoMe (delivery date next week).
And also John D. Rateliff's "The History of The Hobbit", this being the 2011 single-volume hardcover edition, delivery date first week of August.

Picked up both books at the bookstore today. "Index" as confirmed, "HoTH" earlier.
 HoTH is a 938-page brick! Got some reading to do there!
"Index", as a paperback, weighs in at 484 pages, plus 23 pages of notes at the beginning. I see this more as helping to level the field (marginally) when I'm faced with one of @Alcuin's quotation avalanches! ;)

I need this. Nasmith has the best depiction of the dark king of Angband imo, That's exactly how he should look. I can picture that painting sitting inside Turgon's tower no problem.

Delivery of mine was delayed a bit, but not quite as much as the bookstore informed me in an e-mail. That (a latest date, to be sure) would have been just before Christmas. I was able to pick it up on 16 November.

And it's the US Houghton Mifflin Harcourt edition, looks a bit different from the HarperCollins edition Hal showed in the first post. Basic color of the cover is grey, resembling the three "Great Tales" books by HC, CoH, B&L and FoG. 490 pages total, eighteen plates, six each by Howe, Lee and Nasmith. Good solid hardcover, while my 1980's Unwin Paperbacks edition is showing some wear and tear (not nearly as much as LoTR, but noticeable).

Not me :)

One giveaway is that my Children of Húrin (not a boxed edition) is hidden 🐾
