Actually, I have heard this issue being referred to or discussed somewhere before.
But please don't ask me where or under what circumstances.
I put it from my heartwood as spoiled and insufferable Bantha fodder, and am unable to retrieve it now, I fear.

p.s. - I don't recall seeing any "thinkers" or "academics" either mentioned, or involved in the discussion, at all.

If the three rings were meant to be hidden and Frodo was even chided for "revealing" Galadriel has one - then why are the three most famous elven lords in Middle Earth the ring-bearers? Aren't Elrond, Cirdan and Galadriel the most obvious candidates?

Frodo is quite surprised to find that despite all his efforts at secrecy, his friends still knew that he was leaving the Shire. What allowed them to guess? What does it say about Merry and Pippin that they insist on coming along?

How could this person know about Frodo's surprise and not know what allowed his friends to "guess"? Did they stop reading the book or something? Why even post this as a question? 🤔🙄
