Tar-Elenion, after a long illness, passed away yesterday with all of his Tolkien books next to him.

Thanks for clarifying. This is very sad news. He was a longtime member, who made many valuable contributions here over the years. His presence will be missed. 😕

That is very sorrowful news indeed. He was a most treasured member here, and he blessed us with his copious knowledge. Indeed, he is already missed. Prayers go up for the family of @Tar-Elenion and all of you who knew him personally well.🙏😔

Now I'm looking at more of his 745 posts here over the years.

I knew Tar-Elenion was ill and was praying for him. We go back a long time, chatting on various Tolkien sites, having fun, digging deep into Tolkien's World.

I consider him a Tolkien scholar and I learned much from him. With a smile, I'd always click on a
Tar-Elenion post, and it was always worth it!

I consider him a friend of many years. May we meet in person one day, "Tar-E", and together lift a glass to JRRT, and chat about all things Middle-earth.

Rest in peace my friend. I'll miss you.

Very sorry to hear of Tar-Elenion's passing. He was certainly a learned member of TTF, one who generously shared his knowledge with others. His presence here will be missed. 😔
