Hi I am new here but I wanted to ask one question since there is a super extended lord of the rings trilogy that has not been released yet and each of the films would be five or six hours longer.

My question I was asking is there a more scenes and hours that never made it to the extended edition of hobbit trilogy prior to like what the lord of the rings extended editions had when not everything made it to released editions?

There's a super-extended version of LotR? I remember being very happy with the Extended editions, and a friend decades ago talking/boasting about how they were going to wait for that superduper super-extended hard-R rated edition that was going to be so much better than the meager paltry version I settled for.

I wonder if he's still waiting.

Maybe with AI technology, Peter Jackson can turn each of the lord of the rings films into 10 hour films for a third extended edition series.

Do we have information from a verifiable source there is veracity to the rumor of such a thing?
I've not heard of this. (Though I confess... I don't pay much attention to the Movie side of things given where it went to begin with. If he's going to do any more with it, AI or otherwise, I do hope he does some reading and research first. He flung just a bit too much from left field as it was, though he flung rather well in HOW he flung it.)

I guess I'm also confused as the Title line says "The Hobbit second edition extended..." but the content of the first post speaks to the Lord of the Rings extended.... not the same thing.
Which are we looking for?

Not a whisper of this anywhere on the Webs. Very unusual given the ability to hide anything from the persistent.

As noted above, 'patience' I guess. There were so many rumors about massive changes to RoP too, one wonders what's really afoot...

PJ can't go too far with it unless he's negotiated another contract with the Estate I should think, and we'd have heard something about that.

Color me 'skeptical'..... (and with regard to patient waiting, color me 'paitently concerned' rather than 'patiently excited.')

I think that is not how it works. Tolkien sold the movie rights back in the late 60's (due to tax problems). The Estate has nothing to do with the movies creatively.
I, however, have no clue what the OP is on about with an unreleased super extended version.
